We maybe small, but we’re perfectly formed

Fact or Fiction?

There are a lot of myths about being a pharmacist in a large supermarket. Most of which are totally untrue. Here are just some of them.

Pharmacists have to take a daily dose of shelf stacking don’t they?
No. You’ll work in the pharmacy, not out on the shop floor.
Surely pharmacists have to work nights in 24hr stores?
Certainly not. You’ll be asked to do shifts that fit around your lifestyle. Most of our pharmacies close at 8.00pm - all are closed by 10.30pm
Working in a supermarket, pharmacists don’t have time to spend with customers?
Couldn’t be further from the truth. Our pharmacists have all the time they need to carry out medicine use reviews with customers. In fact, they have regular patients who they get to know very well.
Tesco pharmacists don’t feel part of the community do they?
Completely wrong. We’re a community pharmacy, we just happen to be based in a large supermarket.
Tesco pharmacists don’t get to offer customers the latest services?
Of course they do. At Tesco we like to lead our market. That’s why we offer customers smoking cessation, medicine use reviews and blood pressure testing, in designated consultations rooms, in all our pharmacies.
