European Pharmacists

In many of our existing Tesco Pharmacies we are currently offering positions for pharmacists registered outside the UK. And it’s an offer that is fully supported with UK Pharmacy and English Language training for anyone arriving from Europe.

Working in Tesco Pharmacy UK isn’t just about dispensing medication - it’s more focused around patient care and medicine advice. This might sound very different to what you’re used to, but don’t worry, we’ll offer you lots of support to make the move to UK as comfortable and easy as possible.

Our Promise:

  • Financial support with flight tickets to the UK.
  • Financial support with accommodation for the first 4 weeks.
  • Free English language development course, supported by University tutors for 12 weeks.
  • Structured UK Pharmacy training course for 12 weeks.
  • Permanent employment subject to your successful completion of the bridging programme.

What do you need to join Tesco Pharmacy UK?

  • Pharmacy Degree.
  • Advanced level of English (written and spoken). Only UBELTS level 3 or above is recognised by Tesco. Read about the UBELT test.
  • Excellent team working and communication skills.

The 12-week UK Pharmacy Training Programme we provide will support all your training needs for working as a pharmacist in the UK. We run a number of these programmes throughout the year but you can apply at any time. Once we’ve received your application a member of our Pharmacy team will contact you and, if all goes well, you’ll be invited to an interview. The interview will be held about 12 weeks before the start of the next programme. If you’re successful here you’ll be offered a place on the training programme and made a conditional offer of employment based on successful completion of the programme. For the duration of the programme you’ll be paid at our current training rate, which we’ll discuss with you at the interview.
