We like a good mix of different strengths

Sara Raszuck

Pharmacist

I actually encountered Tesco when I was at University studying for my Masters degree in Pharmacy. I applied to Tesco to do a vacation programme and I was accepted so I worked for six weeks in my local Tesco store and I benefited from it so much - it was very structured and organised. I then did my pre-registration year at Tesco as well so I knew a lot about the company and what it had to offer. At the moment I've been qualified for two years and I have undertaken a position as a second pharmacist however there is the option to progress up the ladder to become a Pharmacy Manager. Tesco run several different training programs, one of which is called 'Options' which can take from anywhere from 12 weeks to a year depending on how fast you feel you're progressing. So, you have all the supports that you need as well as all the tools to develop and carry on with your learning.

You think of Tesco as just being somewhere Mum and Dad does the shopping and maybe pop in a prescription, do a bit of a shopping, come back and then take the prescription - it's completely different. There are obviously people that just come solely for prescriptions but there is a vast amount of contact with patients. You tend to see regular patients on almost twice-weekly basis and they often come back because of the level of service that you provide. So you do have a such a great deal of customer contact.

What a healthy attitude
