Pharmacy Assistant
Every single pharmacy assistant carries out our accredited training programme. We also encourage and support our pharmacy assistants to carry out further training in recognised courses so that they can support our pharmacists in the dispensary.
Leadership training for everyone
(yes, everyone)
All our employees (including pharmacists) can access Tesco basic leadership training programmes. These help develop skills such as planning and organising, meetings management and communication.
Once you’ve joined you’ll also undertake a comprehensive induction programme to help you understand Tesco and, specifically, Tesco Pharmacy. This will also form the first part of planning your future development in the role.
Continuing Professional Development for Pharmacists
All our pharmacists get funded CPD every year. This means you’re always developing your skills and updating your knowledge - and it’s done during your working week so you’ll still have time for a life outside of work too.
Where could training take you?
That’s a difficult question to answer. At Tesco, talented people can end up in almost any part of the business, if that’s what they choose.
Some of the opportunities available to you include Pharmacy Manager, Regional Pharmacy Manager and various head office roles. If you decide to work outside pharmacy, you really can go global. As well as store and head office jobs, you could find yourself in Ireland, Central Europe, the Far East or even the USA.
